Creating a Low-Maintenance Paradise: A Project by the Best Landscape Designers Hills District
SFA Landscape Design partnered with a client yearning for a low-maintenance, easy-to-care-for outdoor haven. The existing yard demanded a significant amount of time and effort to maintain, leaving the client longing for a more relaxing space.
The Challenge: Balancing Privacy with Functionality
The initial challenge involved a lack of privacy with neighboring properties and a colorbond fence that needed screening. To address this, our landscape designers Hills District Sydney recommended fast-growing, dense screening plants that would create a visual barrier and a noise buffer, fostering a sense of seclusion within the backyard.
The client desired a dedicated space for family gatherings around a fire pit, along with a quiet corner for personal hobbies and relaxation. Our design incorporated a fire pit area that seamlessly connected to a SHE shed – a perfect space for hobbies or additional storage. Next to the fire pit, a propagation table allowed the client to cultivate new plants and add a touch of personalization to the space.
The Solution: Reducing Lawn Space and Defining Boundaries
The client expressed difficulty managing the lawn creeping into garden beds and the time-consuming mowing process. We devised a solution: reducing the lawn space, expanded the existing garden beds, creating a larger area for low-maintenance plants and flowers. Additionally, we constructed garden edging to prevent the lawn from encroaching, ensuring a clean and defined border for both areas.
The Outcome: A Low-Maintenance Oasis for Relaxation and Connection
Through thoughtful planning and design, our landscapedesigners transformed the backyard into a low-maintenance haven. The dense screening plants provided the desired privacy, while the fire pit area with the connected SHE shed created a perfect space for family gatherings and personal pursuits. The reduced lawn area and defined garden beds minimized maintenance needs, allowing the client to spend less time on upkeep and more time enjoying their beautiful outdoor retreat.
